How we compare cards

Where the figures come from

Every figure is taken from the card issuer’s own product page or summary box. We record the page we used and the date we checked it, and link to it from each card page.

The five key facts

  1. Representative APR – the rate at least 51% of accepted applicants get. Your own rate may be higher.
  2. 0% on purchases – how many months of 0% interest you get on spending.
  3. 0% balance transfers – how many months of 0% on transferred debt, with the transfer fee in brackets.
  4. Annual fee – any yearly or monthly account fee.
  5. Foreign transaction fee – the charge for spending in a currency other than sterling.

If an issuer doesn’t publish a figure, or we couldn’t confirm it, we show “—” rather than guess.

How cards are ordered

  • Balance Transfer: longest 0% period first, then lowest transfer fee.
  • 0% Purchase: longest 0% period first.
  • Rewards & Travel: lowest foreign transaction fee, then annual fee.
  • Credit Builder and Low APR: lowest representative APR first.
  • Cashback: lowest annual fee first.

A card appears in a category when the issuer tags it that way, or when its published figures qualify (for example, any 0% balance transfer period puts a card in Balance Transfer; a representative APR of 22.9% or lower puts it in Low APR).

How often we update

The card database is refreshed on a schedule and the whole site is rebuilt from it automatically. Data last updated: 30 October 2026.

Independence

No issuer pays for placement. We don’t use “apply now” links – we link to the issuer’s official page so you can read the full terms first.
